Can pizza help boost your home value?

“New Zillow® research finds that listings touting chef-friendly amenities, such as steam ovens, pizza ovens and professional-grade appliances, can sell for as much as 5.3% more than similar homes without them. That adds up to about $17,400 on a typical U.S. home.” According to a new Zillow research report.

The kitchen is indeed the essential selling room in a home. Buyers assess the kitchen more than any other room. The Second is the master bedroom, and the third is the master bathroom.

Although we agree that the kitchen has massive importance when selling your home, we’re not convinced that adding a pizza oven will boost the sale price. We’ve never sat down with home buyers and heard them tell us they “want a kitchen with a pizza oven.”

Kitchen Features That Sell

Buyers spend the most time analyzing the kitchen. The first thing they look for is an open kitchen floor plan. They consider how the kitchen flow is laid out regarding social interaction and logistics.

The kitchen is the hub of a home and family. It is an essential room for connecting with the most important people; family, friends, and associates. The more open to the adjoining entertainment space, the better.

The second element of the kitchen is food preparation and seating logistics. The larger the island and eat-in kitchen space, the better. New high-quality and matching appliances also boost buyers’ appeal for a home.

Finally, the cabinets and pantry are taken into account by buyers. Favorable factors are cabinet capacity and if they are updated or not. Having a pantry is essential, even if it’s small.

Pizza is one of our all-time favorite foods. Having a pizza oven would be fun, especially for an outdoor-in entertainment room. We’re just not convinced that adding a pizza oven to your kitchen would boost your ROI.

We are sure that a gas stove top is requested frequently, and a beautiful granite-topped island is greatly appreciated by house shoppers, especially if it seats at least two.
