Color of the Year 2023

The color of the year impacts real estate in a big way as it relates to the selection of paint and fixtures. Preparing a property for a beautiful presentation always includes fresh paint. The authority for the color of the year in fashion is Pantone.

This impacts real estate as far as accent colors are applied. This may appear in builders’ showrooms as accent walls or bathroom colors. It may be displayed when staging a home in accessories.

It typically does not directly impact overall house interior paint because it sometimes needs to be more neutral. A lighter shade may be used, or another color that has become a recent standard, such as Agreeable Grey.

Both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have used Pantone’s 2023 color to create their version for interior paint. Behr has gone for a stark white called Canvas. This makes a lot of sense when preparing a home to be sold. It essentially primes the home for whatever color the new buyers choose to apply after they complete the home purchase.

How is Color of the Year Chosen

The color is chosen as a result of a secret two day illuminati-ish annual meeting. It is held in Europe and is attended by undisclosed representatives of varied color standard groups. The color is identified as being attached to a psychological meaning that the it evokes. Pantone View publishes the selection.

How Long Has Pantone Done Color of the Year

The Pantone Color Matching System started as the first catalog of colors. It comes in a fan format with color codes. This system started in 1963 to help the printing industry with matching problems. The fan format became the easiest way to identify and match colors.

Pantone’s system is used for fashion, paint, textile and manufacturing.
